Getting water supply to site
« on: March 27, 2012, 07:57:30 »
Anyone done this recently got any words of advice?

I assume contacting united utilities is the first step to get a quote but any ideas on cost?

I think the allotment site is about 20-30m from the nearest water pipe.

Is it cheaper if we dig the hole to the site from the main pipe? It's a concrete adopted road that affects two houses and the allotment site.

You will not be able to dig in the highway yourself. The utility company will do this and bring a feed from thier water main to the boundary of the allotments (private land) you can lay and install your supply from your side which if you do first can then be connected when the utility company do there work.

Hope this helps
