And here it is:

Still very much a "work in progress"! Thanks to those of you who pointed me to weekly.com. Even I can get my head round it!

When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

Well done.  I also find the history interesting.  I like the photos as well.

Can you put in an option for seeing pics at my pace rather than yours?  I don't like slide shows.

I like it Trevor.

One tiny suggestion - a bit of text adjacent to any "photo" which is in fact a slideshow to say precisely that would help. I went scrolling down to the bottom of the page and then got confused when I scrolled back up and there were different photos showing!! Well it was a bit early in the morning for me!!

If you have no objection I will add a link to your history to my "Links to Other Allotment Site Histories" page.

Really nice website Trevor, and lovely photos too.
Did you have the option to include a guest book?  I'm sure you would get some excellent comments if you did.

Wonderfull,

now all the 'light fingered' in the area can now watch and see what is coming up for 'borrowing'  without leaving the convenience of their computer chairs.       Cheers,     Tony.

Thanks for the feedback.

BAK, please go ahead and add a link in your allotment histories page. (The article was one I prepared a couple of years ago when we had a library exhibition to commemorate our centenary. I've got the minutes going back to 1981, but the Chairman of our Trustees is also the local historian and I've borrowed heavily from one of her articles.)

And I agree about the photos. I originally had just the one slide show, which worked fine; then I added the second and the whole thing looks very cluttered. As I intend to add more - none of the photos are mine, but we've got several talented photographers, plus a couple of professionals on site - I'll give this page a re-think and either add them as individual photos, or link them to sub-pages. (It's due to rain on Saturday, so I might play then.)

Hadn't thought of a guestbook. Will investigate.

Thanks again. (In prehistoric times, when the Model B computer first arrived in schools, I could do simple programming in very basic Basic, but this is my first attempt at anything like this!)

Smashing site! well done.
2012 - Snow in February, non-stop rain till July. Blight and rot are rife. Thieving voles cause strife. But first runner beans and lots of greens. Follow an English allotment in urban France: http://roos-and-camembert.blogspot.com
