hi
just an update
the infection is MSRA, it came in through a burn so they say. They have said not to worry as they can treat it but all the same it is still a worrying time for Carrie-Ann as she has no immunity to infection. She did have the scan and won't get results till tomorrow morning.
They are saying they want to get her off of the life support and onto a tracheoctomy so she will be brought out of sedation for that. We are all worried now because we hope she can't remember much from the accident, as what happened after the crash was not very nice bless her. (Basically she was running around screaming her boyfriends name with all those terrible injuries!)
as always i will report back to you all if i hear any more news.
much love
Jemma

Dear Jemma,

Thinking of you and Carrie Ann a lot. You're probably going to be on a roller-coaster for a while.....but she's obviously a fighter.

At least something is happening....reaction is good..

Hang on in there, we're all kicking out the positive thoughts for you!

hi all
i have been off for a couple of days with a chest infection.
Carrie-Ann is now on tracheoctomy and has had some skin grafting done.
She is still very up and down but still fighting!
she may be coming out of sedation in the next couple of days depending how she goes?

Oh Jemma I have been so worried for you as I could see you hadn't been online and had feared the news was not good. I hope you are feeling better now and am so glad Carrie-Ann is still fighting.  It is good to hear she has been well enough to have some work done on her burns.  It is a long slow process and she has youth on her side.
We are all thinking of you and sending all our positive thoughts and big hugs to you and all your family.  Look after yourself and get yourself well again.  Take care.

Thinking of her every day Jemma, sounds like it was a terrible accident and always wrenches my heart when I hear of youngsters involved in these awful accidents. Hope she makes more progress over the weekend.

Song for carrie-anne,heard it today, just for lifting up her spirit and mayby yours an your family.

Walking all day near tall towers
Where falcons build their nests
Silver winged they fly
They know the call of freedom in their breasts
Saw black head against the sky
With twisted rocks that run down to the sea
Living on your western shore
Saw summer sunsets,asked for more
I stood by your atlantic sea
And sang a song for carrie-anne

Talking all day with true friends
Who try to make you stay
Telling jokes and news
Singing songs to pass the night away
Watched the Galway salmon run
Living on your western shore
Saw summer sunsets,asked for more
I stood by your atlantic sea
And sang a song for carrie-anne

Drinking all day in old pubs
Where fiddlers like to play
Someone touched the bow,he played a reel
It seemed so fine and gay
Stood on dingle beach
And cast in wild foam,we found atlantic bass
Living on your western shore
Saw summer sunsets,asked for more
I stood by your atlantic sea
And sang a song for carrie-anne

Dreaming in the night,i saw a land
Where no man had to fight
Walking in your dawn
I saw you crying in the morning light
Lying where the falcons fly
They twist and turn in your ever blue sky
Living on your western shore
Saw summer sunsets,asked for more
I stood by your atlantic sea
And sang a song for carrie-anne

I hope the positive vibs will reach her because there is enough to live for.The origanel song is singing for ireland from mary black.
