Soil, ordinary.
Position, shady borders, beds, lawns, under trees or in rock garden.
Plant 5cm deep and 5cm apart in Oct. to Dec. Tubers should not be lifted but left permanently in the soil.
Pot culture: Compost, equal parts leaf-mould, loam and sand. Position, 8cm pots or large pans in cool greenhouse or window. Plant tubers 15mm deep and close together in pots or pans in Oct. or Nov. Water moderately. After flowering, plant tubers outside.
Propagation: By division of tubers in Oct. or November.
