For the UK midlands Hunter, Waltham or another?

its abit late but i did well with hunter when i grew them

also a little tip when picked is to give them a bleach bath a squirt to a sink full of water and give them a quick dip this kills any bacteria on them and stops them rotting i was eating mine untill the next summer

I sowed Hunter my first year growing B/squash.  Here in Teeside I got zero squash from 10 plants in the open ground.  Maybe it was because it was my first attempt at B/squash but have never tried that variety since.

I grow Hunter in the West Midlands reasonably successful will do so again next year - think Waltham need a much longer 'good weather' season than we get here
