Grrrrr @ so close but yet too far petrol wise.  I live in Walkden/Worsley .  It would cost me around £1.80 each way, times that by 4 visits a week = £14.40 per week!!  Would love a plot but maybe a little closer to home.

I was soooooo tempted that I put in directions for quickest route etc.  thats when it told me the cost!  Grrrrrrr and double flippin GRRRRR!!   :(  :'(

That is a shame Stopp! You are right that accessibility is the most important thing though!

Would a bike be practical for some of your journeys Stopp?

The route via motorway was just over 10 miles probably more on A roads. That's 20 miles there and back and as I haven't ridden a bike since I was 12 ......... my bums aching just thinking about it  lol  :P

My plot is at Mossfield Allotments, Flixton Road, Urmston, albeit it runs from Flixton Road to Bowfell Road, my plot is Bowfell Road end. I am told that there is a waiting list for Trafford Allotments as we speak in June, there is a waiting list at Mossfield Allotments, they are all full until October 2012, even some have given up full plots to make more use of them as half plots.
