advice on a new router, please
« on: October 25, 2011, 09:55:57 »
Hi, our present router (Belkin 54g) does not share out internet access fairly ( step-son and his bloody x-box seem to get priority)
is there a router that will actually share the access fairly? ( so those who actually pay for the broadband get a share)
look forward to your advice.
regards, Tony

Morning Tony. We have me (Win 7), the Mrs (some work thing) & one internet/windows media sharing radio using the router. Had a Belkin 54g like you which would constantly drop connection & need resetting. Now have a Belkin N wireless router & it's the nuts. Never complains & very reliable.

About half a year ago it was about £40 or £50.

Sombody asked this a while back, you will want a router with QoS (Quality of Service) built in.
Can't recomend a particular make, here is a search on amazon to give you an idea.
