Second/Extra plot
« on: October 17, 2011, 13:28:45 »
I've managed to secure another plot on our allotment site as I was rapidly running out of space. Luckily, it's directly behind my current plot!

Its 53 foot wide and tapers off to a point on the right that is 90 foot and it's 75 foot on the left, this is because there is a beck at the end of the plot, so I have a natural water feature too!!

I'm fairly lucky that about two thrids of it is currently covered so it just needs uncovering and turning over, the remaining third is just grass and will need mowing until it's eventually dug over.

Here are a few shots of the new plot, one from each corner.

It's a big plot, giving me plenty of scope and growing space!

Could be a lot worse!  It's a nice big area, and hopefully not too shaded by the trees.

Good luck, and happy planning & planting.

I would weed kill  everything on the surface then dig it in for winter in a week or so once it died.  Deal with whatever comes up next year but shouldn't be much after the weedkiller.  Good time to do it with not much able to be planted and you still having your other plot to work at present.

Good luck with your new plot. I took a second one one a few weeks ago. Since then it hasn't stopped raining.  :'(

What a wonderful plot

It's huge  :D

I really wish I could get one that big.

My other half has got the bug now and got himself one.

Good luck with it, and keep us updated on how your doing with it
