New lottie bike!
« on: January 31, 2004, 12:25:30 »
Thanks to a 'bike plan' at work, we can buy a new bike and the cost get taken out of my salary before taxes making the bike more than a third cheaper.

Crate on the front, bags on the back, loaded with lottie harvest.

Come on spring!

I think you'd rather not have that that excuse Eric. Darn backs, so many people suffer with that, so sorry.

Nice bike Ina.  ;D  Make sure nobody nicks it!   :-/ Ideal for lottie use. Never could ride a bicycle, don't know why when I could drive a motorbike no probs.

You'll have to take a photograph of it laden with all that loverly produce to make us all even more jealous!  8)

No tim, no trailer, there's no room in the bike shed at home for one.
In summer I'll try and post a picture of it loaded with veggies, I can't wait.

Slick machine Ina.  You will be  able to carry loads and loads with it.  Wonderful 'sit up and beg' type bike.  Dont see many like it over here unfortunatly.

'Sit up and beg' hahaha, I know what you mean tho'. Don't forget that bicycles here are mainly for transportation.

Many people also have a sport bike with many gears but they are much too light for grocery shopping and lugging lottie stuff.

Going to the lottie on sunday mornings you can see the 'sporty' types in little groups on their expensive bikes with ridiculously thight bicycle suits stretched over their pot bellies. Always feel like inviting them to come work in my lottie, put all that energy to good use hahaha. Not flashy enough I guess.

Nice bike Ina ! I've got a "city" bike (known as a mountain bike in England but seeing as we have no mountains they call it a city bike over here)
I'm planning on attaching a crate to the back of it though.

How stupid, me buying a new bike! With this penal system, as Ozzy mentioned,  it would have been much cheaper just stealing a bike, thousands of people do it.

All I can say Oz, things in Holland are changing rapidly.  Actually Í think England is ahead of us the way things are going here since the last elections.

Beer-Belly's "city-bike" - ROFL  :) :D :)

Love it - bit like Range Rovers to mount the suburban kerb on the school run!

I like the look of your bike, Ina - looks good and sturdy;  love to have a trailer on the back, but that's a silly thing to say - I'm only just free of pulling youngest on a trailer for the last two years.  And that's some weight - she only remembered to pedal going down-hill.

Ha - now she has her own bike, and she's discovering that's not how it's supposed to be! ;D ;D ;D

All best - Gavin

Lovely bike Ina!  Reminds me of friend who had 'trade' bike, used to ferry his kids around in it!  ;D
