Water butt overflow
« on: September 10, 2011, 19:45:43 »
Im hoping this is in the right catorgory, im thinking this goes under "stuff" rather than ponds :D  Im making an overflow into another water butt, my question is should the pipe going into the new butt be connected at the top or the bottom?? Im thinking the bottom but will water get trapped in it then split the pipe when it freezes in the winter??

Any help would be appreciated as always ;D

All mine have the overflow at the top into the next one - into the next one etc.

If you have them at the bottom then they all become part full at the same time and so harder to fill watering cans from.

At the top also has the added advantage that the pipe/s are not always full of water so in the winter there's less chance of freezing and splitting I would have thought.
