AS Saddad sys all shop tomatoes that do have the stem on are cut off at the knuckle, so it is to show that you have grown it.

I agree i dont beleive any upstanding honest person on A4A would cheat???

Perhaps I'll leave mine on the vine and weigh the whole plant, it might get me a greater weight!!! :-X
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴

No rules, it is all on trust, but pictures, preferably on scales will be required to estimate the winner
that's Jeannine's rules  ;D

Hi, I'm new here, and I'd love to join in on this challenge  ;D. I bought some enormous beefsteak tomatoes on the journey back through France lasy year. I've no idea what varieties, one yellow, one red. I saved some seed, so it wll be a challenge to see if I can get them to grow as big as the ones I bought (about 1kg each!).

Hello for the 'new' one..and welcome. It is such a buzz to get some holiday 'suveniers' growing.. ;D Lets hope you have good success growing them...well not too much..as I'm going WIN.. ;D ;)

My seeds are all picked out for competion now..and looks like I'm going to have to do more than just 2 varieties.. ::) Is that going to be omen for the rest of the year?..more likely..I always end up doing 'just one more' variety and squeezing them in somewhere.
I'm going till end of month and then my 'giant' seeds are going into propagator.. ;D ;D ;D

Super Marmande  are the first to have peeked out from the compost

& Roma just through (although not for competition)

Temps are forecast to drop through the week with wintry showers so tomato TLC needed ;D
