Cucumber - Petita
« on: August 09, 2011, 22:06:31 »
Does anyone know if it is still possible to buy seed of this variety, or has it been replaced by Socrates which is supposed to be an improvement? If so, then the Socrates I am growing is in no way as good as Petita. If Petita is still available who is selling the seed?

I don't think they're being sold anymore, and they're F1 so probably no seed swaps!
Plants of Distinction suggest passandra is a replacement. Have you ever tried it? I don't think I have.

I grow Passandra and it's excellent.

Get some from Tapestry Seeds, and save seed. It may not come exactly the same but it'll be near enough.
