Are these nice and do they bulk up reasonably quickly. I am wondering how many I need to plant for a decent supply for 4 good eaters!!!

Average for a leek I would say... if you let them establish you can pull 4 or 5 stems from each site in a year... :)

Yes... when they get established they put up several stems in a bunch.. they also self set freely from the top... but the base of the leek itself develops offsets around the base that become seperate plants and these can be pulled and eaten... :)
