hi there i am a very obvious newby to wine making am currently fermenting raspberry and strawberry wine ,  ;D very simple question can i keep my demijohns in a dark cupboard (out of the way to keep missus happy )between rackings or does it need to be kept in  a light location (currently in back of living room along with full fermenting bucket  ;) ;D) thanks very much n8r....

Hi, i keep most of mine wherever i can, as long as you keep an eye on it then it will be fine. Dark wil help to keep the colour of red wines anyway as the sun tends to bleach them.

Mine go in the cupboard under the stairs, out of the way and bubbling gently!

I make the wine so mine is fermenting in the kitchen  :)

4 gallons in PETs and a 5 gal in a big fermenter. It is really noisy with them all burping away
