Dahlia Merckii
« on: May 31, 2011, 18:26:00 »
John Miller recommended these after I wrote about Japanese Anemones a couple of years ago.

I sowed some seed earlier this year and the first flower opened today.

They have lovely foliage, not like normal dahlias but quite delicate. They are supposed to be hardy.

Thank you John Miller.  :)

I fancied growing them one time..........quite tall, back of the border job, with smallish flowers? or am I getting confused?

Yes, that's right.  The flowers are quite small but a really lovely colour.
