Cornykev's school holiday babysitting
« on: April 11, 2011, 18:53:10 »
Well I was talking to Shirl earlier about having a week off to look after the kids, this is how the day went.

Drove the missus to work

Made the 6 year olds brekkie

A4A for a while

Jigsaw with the 6yo in the Sun in the back garden, don't u hate it when there's a few bits missing

Emptied out half the shed to get our 3 bikes out

Pumped up the tyres and wiped the cobwebs off mine

3 balls were thrown at me while I had the pump handy

As soon as Amazon had delivered my parcel we were off

Hang on, a dousing of sun cream first, ( responsible Dad here, the brummie chicks will be proud of me)

A quick cycle off to the lottie, to take some more spuds over there to plant later in the week, my oldest don't look to keen

After a quick reckie it was off on our bikes again

A visit to the play area, toilets and a shaded woodland for a drink and chocolate

Back home to park up the bikes

A walk round to the bookies to collect my winnings

Then off to the cafe, had a chat with the owners, about the only friendly shop for miles

Back home and finished tidying the shed

Sowed a few carrots in the back garden

A quick look at A4A

Blimey is that the time, I better pick the missus up in a minute, the only two things that would stop we would be the phone ringing and someone parked across my drive

You guessed it the site sec on the phone and the old bill parked across my front

Well after  politely removing both obstructions I was on my way

Picked up the missus and went home for a lie down on the settee

How was your day

Chapter 2  tomorrow, no way can it be that exciting again, the kids will be telling the storey of their day out to their grandkids for years to come.

Where's the knackered smiley  ???

We had mum in law hospital sitting. Up at 5.30 with my stinky cold. pills and brekkie. off at 8 , 20 miles to pick her up, put the wheelchair in and set off, in the hossie at 20 to 10, appointment at 10.10,  twelve, finally got in. 5 minutes and out. Went to the restaurant for lunch as it was so late and she hadn't eaten. Back to hers and did her banking, arguing with the woman from santander who thought I had her arm up her back getting her to transfer money from her savings to a cheque account. Finally got in at 3.30. Tomorrow we're off to a different hospital with her. Bet you had more fun  ;D

Lord, that sounds like most days to me!  Like my Saturday:
Up at 8, get some washing on
Have brekkie while tidying up the kitchen,
Shower, make bed etc etc
Get kids up, lazy gits, make smallest one get ready for music class
Off to music class, play piano to accompany music class for 15 minutes, then shoot off to buy bread
back to pick up kid
Race down to allotment to drop off a shelf I had picked up and empty the smelly compost from my kitchen
Hoe onions and spuds, much to child's annoyance
Back home, vacuum, wash floors, get lunch on, hang out washing
Eat lunch
Sit down for 5 minutes with a coffee
gather up library books that need taking back
Clean cat's litter (yuck)
Piano practice
Moan to child until she is ready for sports practice, moan at child's father about getting her there on time
Go down to lottie as is a lovely day, sow lots of seeds, water things, plant last spuds, potter around tidying for a good hour and a half.
Look at time, oh bugger, race home
have to get to association meeting, wanna go by bike, go down, fail miserably to pump up tyres, end up going on foot so am late
during meeting come down with splitting headache
Eventually get driven back by friend to find others buggered off to a friend's house!
I don't care as I gulp down and handful of migraine pills and collapse in bed (until rest of them come back and turn on all the bloody lights saying "where's your mother" with me moaning "tttuuuurrrrnnn it oooffffff ggrrroooggghhhhh"

A woman's work is never done!!!

Up later today about 7.25, nice to have a lie in

The 6 year old had been sick in the night

Took off her bedding and washed them

Positioned her on the settee with a sick bowl

Did the washing up

Hung out the bedding on the washing line

Put another load on

Run a bath

Did some shredding with the Little un

Hung out the second load of washing

Give the kid a bath and washed her hair

Cleared out two drawers and my box file with my paperwork

Hovered the front room

Made some lunch

Brought in the bedding and replaced

Prepared dinner for tonight

As said a women's work is never done.  ;)

MAY THE CORN BE WITH YOU.

I forgot that I cleaned the bog after she puked up in it, but I clean it once a week anyway, to be honest I share most jobs around the house, but ironing is a no no, and I don't normaly do the dusting or hoover upstairs.   :P

So you haven't learned multi-tasking yet, Kev? You'll have to when things get a bit more hectic.  ;)

Over the winter months I do not work on fridays so to help her out. I clean through the house and cook the dinner ready for when she came home from work. One friday I had to go somewhere so I said she would have to do all the work on saturday. That's alright she says  'it will only take an hour'. Well that was it for me, no more slaving away for 7 or 8 hours. I shall just kick her out of bed early saturday so she can do her hour while I think about getting up.
