possible garlic problem?
« on: April 05, 2011, 11:11:16 »
i planted mine about 3 weeks ago in a bed that had been manured last october
and have planted the same depth as last year and got a good tasty crop.. however i've just noticed that the ground has settled after last nights rain and about a 1/3 to 1/2 inch on some of  the cloves is showing    will this be a problem or should i cover them up with more soil
but they have germinated beautifully
many thanks for the forthcoming answers

The Italians on our site, expert garlic growers, always leave their garlic cloves almost sitting on top of the soil when they plant in autumn. I personally wouldn't worry too much if the tops are showing.

You can find much more info on garlics, including recipes, history and health benefits at the link below. Thanks, John
