Having been silly enough to think I was just getting on top of things, I've been rather ill the past 3 days so am now behind again! Hopefully will be able to visit the plot in a few days when my stomach settles down sufficiently....... :-\

I am about 7-10 days ahead of last year, but is one ever on top of all the jobs that need doing?

planted more kohl rabi, beetroot. earthed up the 'smile' spuds. transplanted the red salad, more celeriac, lots of anthirrinums, cuttings of dicentra and tied in and pinched out most of the sweet peas in buckets for the plant sale, coming along nicely ;D

We have had our plot seven years now. We took it on in April and was early May before we planted or sowed any thing. We knew nothing and broke all the rules but it still remains our best and most prolific year yet. So I am behind but refuse to panic." I planted out my first early peas nearly 2 weeks ago (in the north west) so you should be ok but if not sure then harden them off for awhile - also sown one lot of maincrop outside in situ - april can be a cruel month but you just have to keep an eye on things - beans not though, haven't even sown them yet

I've sown some French beans, not sure whether they'll be small enough to stay in a cloche till the seaside breeze warms up, but I got impatient. I certainly wouldn't put French or runners outside yet!
Brrrrr!

Back to normal with me, :-\ have got a lot in seed and lots sown, trouble is time needed to prick out and pot on seems to get less and less. Oh well no time to dwell on this just get on with it and see how things pan out.
Veggies and flowers are going well to many to name at the moment but will do when I have time off this weekend.
