Dissertation questionnaire for allotment holders
« on: March 20, 2011, 18:20:48 »
I am a student at the University of the West of England and I am in my final year of studying geography. I have chosen to do my final year project on who uses Allotments and why, to contrast and compare those in rural and urban environments with a purpose to find out what role the Allotment plays in our modern day society.

The following questionnaire should take no more than a couple of minutes of your time. Please answer the questions honestly and to the best of your ability.

That didn't take long. Personally for Q11 my reason was other - "to get better quality food" which I think is the case for a lot of people.

personally, I would have asked about pesticides and artificial fertilisers in separate questions

how is the University of WOE these days?  :)

That's a good point. I don't use pesticides, I do use a bit of growmore.

Actually, I do use slug pellets on seedlings, so that's a pesticide, but wouldn't use them on anything I'm going to eat soon. FWIW I think you need more questions to get meaningful data. You can always get rid of detail later, but you can never create it.

Rather simplistic for dissertation level.  I have children but they are no longer living at home.  Is that yes or no.  Something wrong with question 11 it did not accept my answer.

I do not use pesticides but sometimes use artificial fertilsers.

Hi

thanks for all the feed back guys, will be very useful particularly in my concluding statement on what i would differently/could change in the future.

to those who mentioned it, i realise it isnt the best written questionnaire (not really my strong point i admit) but i believe it will give me the information that i need. It was a bit rushed as i had some problems getting access to allotments where was going to ask questionnaires origionly. This has ment that it has been more difficult than i would have preffered to change and improve on the questionnaire after putting up.

thanks to everyone who answered the questionnaire for me
