Unexpected.........visitor

While out doing the garden today, I had a visitor who came down to eat the bugs and grubs when I turned over more soil.
Then I went in to get a cuppa for myself and guess what?

He came in and had some crumbs off the side, but was to camera shy.

I came into the lounge to sit and have my tea, and yes you got it he followed me into there. :-\
Finally opened the windows and tried to get him out gently, but he thought I better go back to the kitchen and get some more of those nice crumbs from the side before he went out the door.
I don't think that he will ever be a pet, but I am glad that he chose my place to visit. ;D

Robins will come in the house especially if you give them meal worms!

Had heard that they were friendly little birds - how lovely to have one come into your house!

We have one living in our garden conifers but he/she doesn't venture near the house

Do the mealworms need to be frsh or dried to coax them neare?

Lovely getting that close to the lil guy. Mine go crazy for the live meal worms always about when they are put out  :)

The house in queston wasn't mine unfortunately but an elderly couple I visited through work. They gave dried ones to tempt the bird in and it soon became a regular visitor- so much that they had to be careful not to shut it in!!! ;D ;D
I find the dried ones don't work as well as the live, but felt so guilty putting the live ones out that I had to apologise to them! :-\ :-\

We have a much treasured photo of my late father-in-law sitting in the garden and feeding crumbs of chese to a robin sitting on his hand.  Your robin is even tamer - amazing!

We saw one in a greenhouse at the weekend... either at Savill Gardens or Kew... probably the latter but it was out of focus so we deleted it..  :-X
