Thanks everyone for your votes.  There were several of them (all babies) sitting on the electricity cable that runs into the house.  I was able to open the bathroom window without disturbing them and got a birds eye view!

Good picture Pauline. 

I am missing my swallows as well - I just cleared up their messes (2 nests).   I did see a couple of swallows this morning above the field and hoped they were passing through on their way south.   Wonderful birds.
