Wyevale seeds 50p
« on: September 01, 2010, 11:33:31 »
Just popped into Wyevales because I was passing.   What luck.  They were just organising the seeds onto tables.   All reduced to 50p.   The Flyaway carrot seeds were oringinally £3.29!!!!!

Swindon had them all thrown into bins.  Very difficult to find anything.  But managed to find various goodies.

Wyvales in Chelmsford have them all nicely displayed on their wracks but it is only 50p for Garden Club members.  I came away with 31 packets of seeds, RRP £67.82, I paid £15.50, a saving of £52.32.  Gotta like a bargain.  :)

Newbury had its 50 p seeds for sale to everybody yesterday. Hungerford, today, had a better selection but the offer is open to Garden Club members only.

So I joined the Garden Club, of course!  ;D

Have also visited and bought  :)

With some of the T&M seeds, there was a mix of "Packed for Yr end Aug 2010" and Aug 2011.  I don't know if this means that some really are 1 yr fresher but I looked out for the ones that seemed to be 2011 seeds.

I've resisted manfully so far... but Wilkinsons have some 50/60p packets at half marked price.. so I got some Courgettes (Black Beauty) two packets of leeks and one of cabbage for £1:10 today...

No... I just like broad-beans..... Lots of Aquadulce to go on the new plot over winter, if I get beans great, if I don't then the soil will like the nitrogen.... plus Sutton and Express for a back to back of quick-cropping spring ones, plus imperial green longpods and crimson flowered for maincrops....

I am interesting in using BB as a green manure.  Sounds like a good idea, I managed to get a net of them for 50p.  Also got a packet of winter salad, so that will make a good edible green manure as well.

I tried to get the net of broad beans also, but they were still charging full price.  I think a Friday visit is in order.  :)
