Bumps on me plot - Dig it!?
« on: September 02, 2003, 21:51:49 »
The dry grass (which was as high as an elephants eye!) has now been burnt off the new plot by friendly allotment folks.  Soil now exposed, but not level - it looks there are a number of those 'sleeping policemen' speed bumps on the plot (presumably where there was a vague attempt at a bed system in the dim and distant past!)

Do y'all have any advice on how I  level it out?  Do I just dig in an orderly fashion down the plot? Or across the plot?  Will that do it?  This ones a long term project alright!  :o

When you dig it go the oppersite way to the humps this should level it off for you.
But do be carefull bodies could be lurking  ;) ha ha  and dont go down on haloween hehehe Teresa

Thanks T - that makes sense!  Of course that means a digging row will be on the looooooooong edge doesn't it (it will take me about a month to do one row!)  Lead me to it!  ;)

PS I'll report on 'finds' as I go along....

Everything I find will be investigated for intrinsic value!  A fortune could be made...

Thus far, I have seen several drinks cans in varying degrees of decay, two motor oil cans circa 1999, the remains of a rusty scaffold pole and a veritable mountain of 'spoil' at one end of the plot (presumably the remains of the couch grass) - no, no fortune....
