can anyone help, this a.m my husband found a pigeon drowned in our fish pond
(we have water in loads of areas in the gardenfor birds)  when he got it out there were 3 rings on it's feet, we managed to get them off and wonder if some-one can tell me where to go from here, never had anything to do with pigeons and don't know anyone who has, but realise it belongs to someone and i would like to let them know what happened to the poor little bird.
thanking you in advance for any help.  shirley B

A racing pigeon was found dead on our site and I reported it by email to the above.  They sent a very nice letter back, thanking me.

Years ago we as a family used to race pigeons. It is always nice for the owners to know what happened to their birds. Another form of identity is very often the bird has a rubber stamp mark under their wing. Nice of you to take the trouble.
