Thinkng about sowing some more carrots, salad leaves and herbs (basil and coriander, probably indoors), nothing much else at this stage, but others will be more informative!

I've just mixed together all left over bits from various seed packets...lettuces, herbs, kales etc..and raked all in one large bed...so..what ever comes through is bonus,,and if nothing..well nothing lost..but I suspect I shall have feast of salad greens soon... ;D
I also seem to have several packet of freebie carrots..Parmex..so I've sown plenty of those too and there should not be a problem having plentiful crop as they are those stumpy-type carrots...I will sow some in buckets too...bit later on..to hopefully get really late crop in GH.

I've just sown some radishes, lettuce (Sympson, a frost hardy and heat tolerant variety, which is also delicious), land cress, a late variety Florence fennel, and some turnips for pulling small.  Hoping for some lovely late veggies from that lot!

Yesterday i sowed 3 types of beetroot and 3 types of turnip, swede, radishes and 4 types of carrot....well you have to give it a try, you cannot tell with our weather.

I hope to sow buy the weekend, some mixed lettuces american land cress, spring cabbage and spring onions for over wintering in the greenhouse.

Can anyone tell me when we can sow our onion seeds for next year please  :)

I am doing Walla Walla onions in August.

Just sown some winter brassicas in jiffy pots to go out in a couple of weeks.

Planted 40 bean plants from 3 inch pots on our seed saving area for sharing in the spring with other lottiers.

Planted spinach, finger onions, lettuces and spring onions in my balcony boxes for autumn/winter.

Sowing tomatoes this next two weeks for growing inside over winter.

Last week sowed Durham Early spring cabbage, kale, more pak choy, winter cauliflower, red radicchio lettuce, winter scarole lettuce and late beetroot. Now see if anything grows!
2012 - Snow in February, non-stop rain till July. Blight and rot are rife. Thieving voles cause strife. But first runner beans and lots of greens. Follow an English allotment in urban France: http://roos-and-camembert.blogspot.com
