Still time for broadies ?
« on: July 24, 2010, 21:25:05 »
I noticed some half price broadies at a gc late today, they were relatively stocky plants not leggy or potbound or parched ::)

Will they be worth growing ?  -  I'm not sure if I'd still get a crop off them ? ???

Hi,  :)

Yes.
I`ve twice had broad beans grow, flower and crop in three weeks in the summer.
Last year and again this year. If I had plants, once they were happily transplanted with regular watering I`d be very confident of a crop. I will plant my third planting of broad beans this year, next week.

(There`s sticking your neck out)  ;D Col
... I am warmed by winter sun and by the light in your eyes.
I am refreshed by the rain and the dew
And by thoughts of you...
