onions

been down to lottie... and she has grown some great onions (god love her) :)..
 so i lifted them up.. a couple have spilt so i thought that they must be ready.. they are big i must say..
whats the best way to dry  and store them... many thanks..  :) :)

The split will be the very dry May we had followed by the downpours.... the onions won't store very long anyway, the overwintering types rarely do so I'd use them up quickly......

Lots of French Onion soup - but if you work weekdays, eat on Friday night. ;D

Peel. chop and freeze,or freeze whole once peeled, no need to blanch, they do wonderfully well, chuck them in whatever. I do it often just for the convenience.No good as raw though but for everything else they are perfect.Pop whole ones round a roast frozen, they cook great.
