Young Blackbirds
« on: June 03, 2010, 16:37:19 »
I had to stop weeding as there are a few young blackbirds in the garden.
I think it will be a few days before I can start again, this is due to them not having their full plumage yet.
When the noise of calling to the parents has eased, then will be a good time to start weeding again.
I shall carry on putting plants in where I can and weeding the areas prior to planting though.
If I can get it right the youngsters will help to get some of the worms and bugs out before they take over.
I shall take my time in order to cause the least disturbance to the garden and the wildlife in order to keep a balance in the garden.
Mum and Dad keep returning to the little ones to feed them and encourage them to feed on their own.
With luck the local cats will stay away so they can grow into full adults.
My dog helps with that though, she hates cats but will allow birds down on the ground to feed.

Got them back now to put some tread on them
