Seems a shame to bin them, but I can't think what else you could do with them.  Small with a big stone inside...... :-\

With respect, you've already asked this question - & if you leave it here, you will confuse the issue?? = Tim

I made sloe gin truffles last year -normal chocolate truffles, recipe from a waitrose handout -but I'm sure there's plenty on the web- with chopped bits of the sloes in them. Tip -don't use 85% chocolate.

Why not Jeremy?

I plan to dunk my damsons which are currently steeping in gin into choccy to put in a box with my home made marron glace to give to mum and nan.  Could do the sloes also huh?  Mind you, thinking about it, my sloes are only being steeped in gin at the moment, no sugar, I add the sugar before bottling in syrup form, would the sloes be too sharp still?

EJ,

I just put the sloes in as was -I think they must take up enough sweetness from the steeping. 85% is very bitter, a little goes a long way. We found the truffles to be too 'strong' -and we like dark chocolate. Next time I'd try the 70%.
