Cats and lilies
« on: April 12, 2010, 21:30:03 »
Just a quick reminder that cats and lilies don't go together - any part of the plant if eaten can cause kidney failure :(
We learnt the hard way  - I had forgotten that lilies are toxic and brought home some of the lilies from my mother in law's funeral. One of the cats got pollen over her paw and face, so rushed her to the vets and she spent the weekend on a drip to flush her kidneys out. Thankfully blood tests have shown that there was no kidney damage..... the only damage was to our bank balance ???
Now the house is a lily free home!

Yes, even just brushing against the flower and the pollen on the fur gets licked off can do devastating damage. There should be a health warning against lilies.

Considering the amount of time they sit on the newspaper when I am reading it you would think some of it would have rubbed off, wouldn't you ;D ;D

Time to read the paper! You sound as if you have time to spare. Get in touch if you need some Gala tickets, we could do a deal. ;)
