Topic: My favourite time of the year

[Tee Gee]

I just love this time of year so that I can watch seedlings emerge.

I have been doing this for around forty years now and I still get the same thrill as I did the first time all these years ago;

Sprouts,Calabrese & Chillies;



Calabrese sown four days ago - 100% germination;



Chillies ready for pricking out - 100% germination;




Aubergines & Cape gooseberry pricked out;



The hot bed doing its thing;



Some I did earlier.....Lobelia



Marigolds



Potatoes ready for planting out



Tomatoes;



and a few I took on my way back to the house;

Me too Tee Gee, about 30 years here and I still want to sing The Wonder of You every time a seed germinates.

My son who is 3 has just discovered the wonder of it all.
He demands to know about every green shoot he sees asking if it will be "a pretty" or "can we eat it"
 He is amazed at how quickly the seedlings in my bedroom are growing and keeps running in to have a look,I really hope he never grows out of it.

Tee Gee - looking good as ever!
Can I ask about pricking out.
I have always been led to be live that you should prick out after the first set of true leaves has appeared (not the cotyledonous ones!) but you seem to get in there before with no conesequences.  Have I been on the wrong track??
