I hit the scavenging jackpot!
« on: March 09, 2010, 20:21:31 »
Our site has had contractors in to reclaim a patch which had been unused for many years, and underneath the brambles they must have found lots of stuff, which they dumped in our rubbish bay.

I couldn't believe my luck when I went - I got 4 rolls of horticultural netting, two rolls of chicken wire, woven rubble sacks, old tin bath, wooden trays...

If a plot-holder had been left to dig that out I'd never have got my paws on it!

It was better than Christmas.  :) :) :)

Anyone else had good finds lately? It's much better than buying, isn't it?

I got a cold frame off a poile of scrap metal last week. It needs new glass, but apart from that it's fine.

Ooh that's a good one! You must have been pleased with that.

Will you have some glass cut for it, or wait to find some glass or plastic and lean it over the top?
