Just wondered how many have already started off their chillis for the 2010 season.
I sowed my first batch on the 13th December:

African Bird Orange (4 germinated)
Black Pearl (3 germinated)
Fresno (4 germinated)
Habanero Long Red (3 germinated)
Wenks Yellow Hot (1 germinated)
Purple Tiger (5 germinated)
Ring of Fire (4 germinated)
Serrano (none germinated yet)
Chocolate Bhut Jolokia (none germinated yet)
Fatalli Yelloe (none germinated yet)

Last week I also sowed:
Cherry Bomb
Peach Habanero
Bermuda Hot

My overwintered Cherry Bomb and Hungarian Hot Wax both got a nasty bout of spider-mite so they've been composted but the overwintered Orange Scotch bonnet is doing OK and is mite free.

Also seeing if I can germinate some Peppadew seeds saved from a morrisons jar of peppadews.

Sweet peppers have also germinated:
Antohi Romana
Mavras F1 (A good purple bell pepper)
Golden Bell

So well on the way!

What have you all got on the go?

I couldn't resist a few.

Some Dorset Naga from Digeroo's seed swap and some Delhi pot chillis went in to the heated propagator last week and they all up - well 70% have germinated.
Always a thrill seeing the first green of the season. :D

I have a tepin, a chinese 5 colour and a early jalapeno overwintering and miraculously I haven't killed em.

Got a few more to go at the end of the month but cant remember the varieties..

So far; Black Hungarian, Trinidad Perfume, Czechoslovakian Black, Orchid, Purple Jalapeno and Bulgarian Carrot.

i,ve got dorset naga, scotch bonnet, and bolivan rainbow which have all been overwintered and are looking good :)

I have Jalapeno, Bhut Jolokia and an unidentified little thing sprouted.

Hi peeps, been off the board for a bit - did you miss me ;D

I am hoping to get mine sown at the weekend in a heated propagator. I have some peppadews seeds (courtesy of tricia), some lemon drop chillis from real seeds and some cherry bombs that were very good last year, but didn't manage to overwinter any.

And once I get my new (freebie) greenhouse glazed I will be hoping to get a few more in.

Just some Jalapeno so far, Scotch Bonnet and Pimento to follow. Maybe Bolivian Rainbow again, although I found that I don't really use them, they just look good.. ::)

Hi, I'm new to this website. People's comments are very interesting though and I love the seed swapping as I always have loads extra....anyway I have just started 3 different types, 2 are hot and 1 is a regular pepper although I don't know the types off hand.
One question I did have is for anyone who has a conservatory and starts their plants off in there. I don't have a greenhouse but my conservatory is south facing. It is cold at the end of the day and overnight when we turn the heater off but warm the rest of the day. Will any seedlings survive in here? What things have people grown in conservatories? Thanks! :)

I didn't intend growing chillies this year - so how come I have cayenne, big jim, bangladeshi (from squash64) and a crinkly skinned one (unknown variety) coming on nicely? ??? ???

Is it ok to put them out in an unheated greenhouse yet?
As I am going to run out of space pretty quickly!
I am down south and could manage to run a small parafin heater at night.

I've put them in the greenhouse tonight with the heater, I will report back tomorrow.
