Yesterday I picked another pile of runner beans for lunch. There are still quite a few small beans on the plants and I can`t bring myself to cut them down yet.

my runners are still going too, quite a lot still on the plants.
they are 'painted lady'. as you say, why cut them down? (unless you've plans for the space) guess the frost will do that soon enough.

I finally hacked mine back just before going on holiday, but still managed to pick a carrier bag full! I also have 5 huge bunches of HUGE bean pods all hanging from my shed roof to dry for my 'soup bean pot'. Had a great bean year this year! ;D
