I just HAVE to replace my rusting 40 y/o spatula.
Can't find one anywhere.
Can't draw, but it's something like this below.

Springy, sligtly concave plated blade which will slip under anything, & even scoop up spilt liquids.

An absolute MUST!!

Tim I have a Nick Nairn board scraper. I saw it on ready steady cook & was very impressed with it. I bought it for 2 of our daughters too. It's square stainless steel, very pliable. I use it to transfer things from chopping board to pan. You can have a look at it on his cookery school site under utensils.

Tim, there's a company named "Chef''n" that make silicone coated spatulas (they have a stainless steel core). I saw one with a similar shaped 'blade' as yours in Selfridges, it was even slightly concave.

I can't find it online, so suspect it may have been a discontinued model; however, John Lewis carry some of the Chef'n range, maybe they'll have 'old' stock on the shelves instore.

Thanks for all that. I'm sure it will not be wasted.

Reasons why I would pay very good money for 'mine' are;

Can slce a Pizza/Cake.
Can serve a slice.
Can slip under any stuck-on item.
Has small & large holding area.
Can scoop up liquids.

Just cannot believe that such a tool could be discontinued.

I haven't ever tried this product for replating, maybe it is worth looking into? Sounds expensive unless you have many things to replate.

The simple truth is, you wont replace it exactly.

These little kitchen aids we make our favourites become like an additional appendage and some one else with that same tool most likely wont find it as perfect as you did.

My mother had a pallate knife she used for all sorts. I thought it was rubbish.

I had a potato peeler which some one bent trying to use it for a tool it was never intended for and I have never found another like it.

In fact, with use, that spatula thingy probably became moulded to your hand, and wrist movement like a realy well worn comfortable pair of footwear. If you get my meaning.

Give it a good send off and grieve.

If you send in pics to Lakeland they do make obselete implements. A friend of mine did it successfully. Worth a try?
