£30 for a slice of pumpkin
« on: November 05, 2009, 07:40:47 »
I gave one of the big pumpkins left after the competition to some of our Bangladeshi plotholders.

Yesterday, they gave me £30 they had raised by selling slices of it to their friends and family!

I thought that was really lovely, nobody has ever done anything like that before.  :)

The £30 will go to our fund-raising for Macmillan/Air Ambulance.

Just re enforces what I've always said, there's good in all peoples shame we only focus on the few that give a bad name to the human race.  Bet your chuffed to conkers Squash64   :) :)

Shows how cynical I have got, expected this topic to be about a rip off supermarket!

Really lovely thing to happen, does restore a bit of my faith in humanity :)
Smile at your enemies.

It makes them wonder what you are up to.

Thanks everyone for your replies.

When they gave me the money yesterday Habib kept asking me "Are you happy with that?" because he was worried I would think it wasn't enough!

They are such a nice family.

We gave one of our giant pumpkins to our lottie neighbour who carved it and made soup to sell for donations to charity. He did this through the local social club.  ;D
