Flowers to cut next year
« on: October 11, 2009, 11:55:15 »
I've collected a load of hollyhock seeds and have a few coming through in seed trays - is this a good time to get them going?  I'm trying to simulate self seeded plants i guess.

Also doing some sweetpeas now.

Is there anything else I can get going now?

Yes Psi there a quite a few hardy annuals that can be sown now. Larkspur makes a very nice cut flower. Clarkia, Candytuft and Nigella are just a few
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

Cosmos does well as a cut flower too.  :D
I was born with nothing and have most of it left.

Be careful with Nigella though... I let it self seed once and it took over half a plot... even after a decade of hoeing/pulling I still get some...  :)
