just removed one of these from kitchen floor near back door - wish I'd taken a photo but check this out  8)

anyone else seen them this year - as I went to put it onto a piece of kitchen towel it reared up just like it says, like a scorpion but didn't squirt at me or emit any stinky smell  ;D

The only time I have seen one was when we were doing our sons garden up in County Durham. Beautiful looking beetle
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

my oh laughs at me when i say what this beetle is,we have seen plenty around here at the moment, along with stag beetles and extremely large rain beetles, well they look like rain beetles.
however they are not very friendly,as if i sit on the floor in our lounge at night they always try and nibble my toes, ??? perhaps there trying to tell me something.
