More vandalism
« on: August 07, 2009, 21:46:31 »
it must be the school holidays.

My neighbours pumpkins have all been smashed and the front row of sweetcorn from both mine and his have been taken and my apple trees have been stripped of fruit...........just stupid, mindless vandalism courtesty of the oiks that live in Snowy Fielder Waye - named after a man who devoted his whole life to this area.  I would think it ironic if I wasn't so angry.

Reported it as theft to the police - they have to act on theft and it does no good for their stats.

Thanks everyone.

We did get a response - Police visit to the site on Saturday afternoon and a follow up call from the Safer Neighbourhood team this morning.

It's that time of year. We had sheds on a plot arsoned Sunday night/ Monday morning. Spent most of Monday morning on site & on the phone. Horrendous mess.

We often find the local woods are arsoned or trashed at this time of year.

Sad....  (For them even more than us....)

Trevor, we had a similar problem and the Safer Neighbourhood team put us in contact with the London Fire Brigade - it is in their interest to prevent fires as well as put them out.

LFB run a scheme targeted at youngsters who are too fond of matches/lighter fuel - of course you have to find the little @@**# first, but might be worth investigating.

And to add insult to injury, although the Fire Brigade reported our fire as arson, the police have said they don't have the resources to follow it up!!!!

And they expect us to co-operate? An elderly plot-holder has lost his shed and his collection of tools - including a rotovator and a couple of mowers - and they can't spare an hour to come down and take a couple of photographs and ask a few questions! The local paper did that much!

you fund your local plod, write to them and remind them of two  small facts.
1, they are 'public servants'.
2, you are the 'public'.

seems straight forward? ;) ;) ;)
You couldn't make it up!
