do I must need an adopter?

Hi there,
please help me,
I finally got a wireless router from Virgin,got it all set up.

Now laptop is working perfect but my desktop wasn't >:(
 
I've used ethnernet cable lead plugged from router to desktop and its till not working >:(

And I rang to Virgin they said I needed an adopter,soon I get an adopter it'll working fine :(

that mean it cost ££££

Do I needed to? Is there any other way to get it working,?please help

Unless your PC is very old there is normally an Ethernet card in it. That should be all you need. (I run my PC from Ethernet and the other 4 from wireless.)
Are you using virgin cable or is it down a BT line?
A simple work around is to get a wireless dongle as in this from Play

Just plug it in a usb and follow the instructions and use the wireless network for your PC.
If you haven't got green fingers then use your fists.
