From the allotment, runner beans, mint, raspberry and apple crumble, two heapings for me.  Took the raspberries out of the freezer and let de-frost, sliced my lovely brambley cooking apples thin, put in a dish with the raspberries, with two tablespoons water and two tablespoons sugar, put crumble mix on top (from Morrisons) as had been at the allotment most of the day (good excuse) and cooked for about 30 mins.  Had with double cream, might have a bit more soon, and soon Quality Street, why am I so thin.
Not from the allotment, lamb cutlets, carrots, I cannot grow carrots.

Got home made tomato soup, french beans with our roast and elephant garlic.  Wondering whether to try a beetroot soup recipe.

I cut some Gai Lan stalks, a form of fast growing Chinese broccoli, to eat with pork steaks. They were very tender and tasty. It was the first time I've grown them and will definitely sow them again next year.

MMmm not much, a bunch of radishes (the last ones now), some rocket and some purslane for a salad.  Soon hopefully some lettuce and the first leeks and some more swiss chard.
2012 - Snow in February, non-stop rain till July. Blight and rot are rife. Thieving voles cause strife. But first runner beans and lots of greens. Follow an English allotment in urban France: http://roos-and-camembert.blogspot.com

Not so much what I've eaten, but what  I am inhaling...phew, my eyes are watering..
I've got fan oven and I'm keeping the oven door slightly open to assist the drying of the chillies, lovely smell but it is STRONG.

Were the bottom ones hot lemon? I grew that this year and love the flavour.
I am still eating the last of the Cobra French beans. I have huge respect for it now. It produced well and even plump and flecked with age and with seeds forming there is not a hint of stringiness.

Yes..they are and there is still lot of more to deal with..they always perfom well.
I'm going to do individual variety chilli powders this year..some for me..some make some nice 'stocking fillers' for Christmas.
Its going to be 'home made' pressies Xmas this year  :icon_cheers:
