Purple and white sprouting broccoli and a chopped leek fried in butter with a little water until it evaporated, to which I added a pack of shredded white cabbage frozen in a garlic (mine) white sauce.....(Husband will insist on buying these huge white hard cabbages....there is a limit to how much cole slaw one can eat....) but this mixture, with a little crème fraîche and some parsley, is lovely.

As he is away today and I can please myself, supper will shortly be roasted root veg (surprisingly huge parsnips just found when clearing a patch of allotment, and lovely jerusalem artichokes), and a goose egg I have just been given. Plus wild garlic and sorrel and spinach chopped up and simmered in butter and crème fraîche. Maybe some spaghetti.....(cannot usually have it because husband hates pasta).

Just had the first asparagus from my own plants ever.... about a dozen small spears, in the absence of any Hollandaise I bashed some balsamic vinaigrette into som mayo and that was nice with it too....  Main course will be paneer and mushrooms in a creamy garlic-cheese sauce flavoured with garlic and the finely chopped stem-ends of the asparagus... I grew he garlic in that lot as well as the last of the Congo potatoes, now frying up as goth chips..... om nom nom..

Yesterday harvested leeks and PSB and the last of the overwintered kale and spring greens.
So its just leeks and PSB till the spring planted crops are ready, hopefully late May/early June.
