Roast breast of lamb (from Tesco) with Arran Victory roasties, roasted golden nugget squash, runner beans, carrot, swede and cabbage from the plot and homemade redcurrant jelly. Followed by raspberries, also from the plot. Life is good!

Mutton chops from a friend's sheep, braised in cider with shallots and garlic and tomatoes and apples and leeks; mashed potatoes full of herbs, sweetcorn, cabbage in garlic white sauce, yellow courgettes, broad beans frozen earlier; blackberry and apple pie with bought cream (miss my cow). The pastry (frozen chunk left over from an earlier baking) was mysteriously laced with chilli powder.

Nightmare getting everything ready at once for five people, after a morning on allotment.

Did a roast chicken dinner for family, with 'Cream Delight' carrots (which they thought were parsnips because of the colour!), potatoes etc.

Used some of my toms and green peppers, shallots and garlic to do a risotto for me with smoked mackerel....yum! ;D
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴

Had some sweetcorn variety from Franchi.  Lovely red leaves.  Cobs have very slim centres so the corns do not look ready but they are lovely.

Purple dwarf beans just started producing followed some blown lettuce.  Plus the usual suspects.

Just used the outside stems and some of the leaves from our celery with baby carrots and our onions to make celery soup for tomorrow, gorgeous  ;D
carrots, spuds, onions, squash, parsnips and runner beans out of the pods as they had gone too big while we were way, all to make stew, only use 8ozs steak for 4-6 portions  ;D

Well, yesterday for family Sunday lunch (9 persons) we had roasted lamb (not mine) with roasted Desiree, parsnips and crooknecks along with possibly the last of the Cosse Violette and a massive vat of Cavallo Nero.

I was most impressed with myself  ::)  I'm only one and a half seasons into this growing lark.

Actually, last night, roast pork (from Morrisons) and apple sauce from allotment, and then roast squash, pots, cabbage, runner beans and about 10 small sprouts (all from the allotment).  Very nice.  Tonight, cold pork, toms, lettuce (from allotment) and hopefully squash soup which is cooking now if it tastes OK.  Recipe from here so should be good.  ;D ;D ;D
