Pic got the old saliva going.

Bought some wilko corn seeds half price for next year.

Hopefully I will be eating some corn soon, hope you enjoyed it.

Just eating some carrots, supermarket carrots just do not taste like that.  A coup for Franchi Nantes di choggia.

Salad Blue. Early main Crop, dug one plant up, huge yield. Quite a lot of scab though.

One really sad day, before an investigation.... I had mash made with Salad Blue, Burgundy red and a white potato... just to give the meal some colour...  :)

It's salad blue, it is that colour. They're purple raw, seems they change to a bluer hue when you bake them.

Blue potatoes are a little strange and you look at it and expect it to taste different, but it just tastes of potato.

Some people, though, turn their noses up at tomatoes that aren't red. You've got to embrace diversity.

But you're further south than even me. Bet you didn't get your seeds in Wilkos.

LOL - You're right I didn't get them from Wilcos - there isn't 1 in Hastings! How's that for deprivation !?  :P

I am further south but you're in sheltered Maidstone! It gets a tad breezy here, particularly as my site faces the sea. I did put up some windbreak material around them but I think I should have fleeced them for the 1st week or so. Ho hum you live and learn  ;) And some eat their sweetcorn earlier than others - now where's the sulking emoticon when you need it?
