I,m right in the do do
« on: July 31, 2009, 12:01:55 »
I had a wasp in this morning, so I rolled up the paper and tried to whack it. Missed and sort of caught the chandelier a glancing blow, only a small one , as light as a feather really, but it came crashing down in bits! Stupid bloody thing anyway.

It aint going to fix so I whipped down to BHS and got another one, trouble is, it's a proper one for a proper person not the garish red and black one that the Yeti in Pink Knickers likes.

I expect she will notice the difference when she come home but even with a few of the old red and black crystals hung in it she is bound to notice the difference.

Where are the kids when you need them, they always got the blame when they were at home, but they have all left now. I suppose I could offer to have one of the grandchildren for the day and say they had an accident when they were jumping around. She would not give them the bollocking she is going to give me!

I know! a candlelit supper and a bottle of wine would sort of mellow her a bit and I would not have to switch the lights on at all. But the lovey dovey mood that is likely to result is likely to result in an early night. Perish the thought, I think I will go and join the foreign legion.

Well I think you did well to get a new one sorted so quickly. The 'Yeti inthe pink knickers' made me laugh. Rather reminds me of the time I left my OH years ago to peg out the washing - he decided to use the bits of the line which were generally unreachable by balancing on the edge of my very high raised beds and clinging onto my trellis. When I got home he was nursing several injuries and obviously expected sympathy and commendations for bravery when all I cared about was how many plants he had crushed and was my trellis still standing.

Can't you fake an injury?   Say it just fell out on its own on your head.   Say you are going to sue the person who put it up, or was it you?
See how we care about you.

Perhaps you should tell OH (before she comes home) that you have to go away on an urgent job......probably if you give it a couple of months the air may be less blue. Good Luck Ace

Tell her you thought it was looking dusty so you risked life and limb by standing on a chair to dust it when a wasp landed on your face which in turn made you fall off the chair taking the chandelier with you (at this point you could say your back is hurting) hey presto brownie points and sympathy all in one.....simples

I was out in the garden when she returned home, I heard Ooh thats nice! so I had to go around the front to see if I was in the right house. She was looking very pleased so I said I thought I would surprise her with the one she always said she wanted. She couldn't remember saying that, so I had to remind her it was last year. Oh yes she said. (phew).
I'll tell her the old one is up in the attic, as I know she will never go up there. Then I shall dig a deep hole tomorrow and bury the evidence.

Chandeliers? Blimey, there's posh! Can't you just throw it into your moat, or hide it in your Duck House?

Now that you've finished with do-do Ace, can I have it for my Asparagus bed?

Have seen that before but I still laughed out loud. Just imagined Ace's face instead of Del Boys.
