I used to grow Dahlias, but I seemed to get plagued by earwigs so gave them up. It's a shame tho'.

One of our Plotholders exhibits them... our next open day is 6th Sept... a beautiful sight!! :)

A man on our site grew beautiful dahlias, these are a couple. I don't know the varieties.

No Shirl, I don't take them up but I do put a pile of straw over them before winter sets in. We used to have a man on our site who grew them for competitions - he never took them up and he had fantastic plants every year.

Do you grow any anenome-flowered dahlias? I saw one on the allotment near my son's house in Harpenden and it was lovely.

Wow!! Even more gorgeous Dahlias. Mine were put in a bit late this year because of the weather, but they are budding now. Just hope i have some blooms for the allotment show at the end of this month. ;D
