I used to grow Dahlias, but I seemed to get plagued by earwigs so gave them up. It's a shame tho'.

A man on our site grew beautiful dahlias, these are a couple.  I don't know the varieties.

                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

No Shirl, I don't take them up but I do put a pile of straw over them before winter sets in.  We used to have a man on our site who grew them for competitions - he never took them up and he had fantastic plants every year.

Shirl, those are gorgeous!  Do you have a favourite?
Do you grow any anenome-flowered dahlias? I saw one on the allotment near my son's house in Harpenden and it was lovely.

Wow!!  Even more gorgeous Dahlias.  Mine were put in a bit late this year because of the weather, but they are budding now.  Just hope i have some blooms for the allotment show at the end of this month. ;D
