Topic: What's happened to this pepper plant

Cant see what is causing this problem with my pepper plants - cant see anything that might be eating the underside of the leaf - it has affected 4 plants in my greenhouse.  Any ideas?

we've had lots like this this year, they did improve when we planted them in the soil, thought it was the compost ? not sure though  :-\

Its a physiological problem that might have been caused by anything!

e.g. Standing in a draught, too wet, too dry, pot bound or a combination of any of these or other things.

As has already been mentioned it should grow out of it.

If a side shoot appears do not remove it and let this grow on as your growing tip!

Thanks for coming back to me Manic - but I used the same compost with other peppers and they are fine - one ring of fire chilli affected as well - even took out a magnifying glass and couldn't see anything - weird!

Might be overwatering - watering everything in the greenhouse at the same time, so maybe have to stop being as generous.  Also using tomato feed - maybe too rich???

Possibilities here; Peppers are fed like tomatoes ..........wait till the flower sets.

You are feeding high potash when it is possible nitrogen is needed.

But even feeding nitrogen might not help!!

As I see it your plants are quite healthy looking apart fro the growing tip.

So my advice is;.......Stop feeding!! ...........and let the plants sulk before giving them water!!

I hadn't got enough large pots to transplant our peppers this year so they have been left in 1litre pots and are on matting( painters fibrous protective covering from lidl) They seem to be doing a lot better in smaller pots. Am watering from the bottom as well

Thanks for putting the photo up, meg- this is exactly the problem I was trying to describe in mypost earlier this week. As long as there's a chance they will recover , I won't worry too much about what has caused it, although I suspect toomuch sun or underwatering, as I haven't fed mine at all.

I had it on a few of mine, particularly the slow growing ones. Everything OK now

This is common in peppers on early leaves, never known what causes it, but it normally backs off. I'm a bully with my peppers, rarely if ever feeding them get thirsty before watering them.

We've just eaten our first bell pepper of the season, growing outdoors, no chiles ripe yet though.

February, it is very early, I was very surprised when I saw the blighter peeking out.
