Went down the plots camera in hand to take a few pictures before the rain came and this is the state of affairs;

Looks like I'll have to get the hoe out things need a bit of attention, particularly when you consider the plot secretary has entered one of my plots into  the 'borough's best allotment' this year.

This last couple of years we have won the 'best overall plot' and the judges wanted us to enter a couple of individual plots into the 'best plot' section so my plot has been selected as one of them.

Having seen the other I'll come in second of the two being entered from our plots! ::)

Judging is on the 15th so it gives me a few days to get a few improvements done!

I might win the prize for the worst allotment, but am going to try for small front garden prize next year, from the Council.  Drawing up plans all ready, so excited.  Not so much competition with that.  ;D ;D

Well when you consider I have ten mouths to feed it is quite easy.

Given a chance my two year old grandaughter would eat one on her own. My other three grand children like them as well, so as I say..........quite easy!

Not a lot (in my opinion)

Over the season possibly an average of 2-3 hours per week. This can be as little as 0 to say 6 hours per day depending on the season.

On average; my routine ( because I am retired) is;  I go down about five times a week for around two to three of hours a day, so say 12 hours a week during the growing season, and sometimes not at all during 'out of season'.

When I worked I would call in to water on my way home from work which might be up to one hour at the most. At the week end possibly four to 5 hours on Saturday & Sunday so again the total was around 12 hours per week average in the growing season.

Now that I am retired I just please myself and don't look to the hours I spend on the plots. For instance I might not go down to day (too busy answering queries on A4A  ;) ) I'll see how I feel after lunch!

Normal procedure for us is;

Wash!

Bung in pan and cook for short time

Eat

Could you explanin this 'peeling' I'm curious  ;)
