Our allotment society is organising a Pumpkin Day on Saturday31st October
At WMC, Ellistown, Leicestershire to encourage interest in allotments and healthy eating.
One of the events, the biggest pumpkin is restricted to locals but the others are open to everyone .These include the:
Best pumpkin face, Best pumpkin pie, Best pumpkin soup, Best pumpkin pickle or preserve, Best pumpkin drawing by a child
Entry Forms can be downloaded from the EAGS website eagsociety.co.cc. Details of how to submit your entry and the judging are on the form. Photos of last years event are also on the site.
Entries for this biggest pumpkin competition must be received by 30th June 2009 but there is more time to enter the others.
There is a local independent garden centre , and a Leicester Museums Manor house both with a tea room which serves lunches, less than a mile from the site so why not make a day of it and include a visit to our allotment site?
