Funny you should mention that, I have been looking at using those...I saw them advertised here:

However, ever mindful of saving pennies, I saw some boot liners in B&Q for £2 each...which are like bigger versions of the reusable grow bags, and was thinking that I could use those instead. Or even the blue IKEA bags that are made of the same stuff and only 50p each?
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴

That's made me think.....our LA provides recycle bags made from this stuff, or if you have a spare £25 you can have a blue bin instead: people who've opted for a bin will have old polyprop bags lying around useless (they won't be gardeners, of course)....a true recycler would knock on doors with blue bins, begging.  See you later....

I'm using non-returnable builders bulk bags as raised beds this year..... spuds are up in the four that I planted with them, will have to see what the crop is like vs the similar number I've got in the flat.... Will be putting thigns like corn, squash, beans, cukes and gherkins in the others.... just off to get some more soil for them now....

Where do you get the soil to fill bags that big Chris..........festival waste? ;D ;)

The price of filling the blooming things compared to grow bags is what puts me off a bit....I don't have a source of cheap soil/muck etc. :-\

Join Freecycle, take topsoil as and when it appears, I drive a minibus camper con version so can get a decent amount per trip........ it's where I got most of the bulk bags too... think I've got ten of them now.... need some manure really but scared of aminopyrallid issues....
